Simple tracking, works well

Got the WhatPulse Client. It tracks my keystrokes and clicks. Does exactly what it says. No issues. Easy to use.

Helped with my productivity

So I decided to try WhatPulse after hearing about it. I just went with the basic client first to see how it was. Honestly, it's pretty cool to see how many keystrokes I do in a day. It actually made me think about my computer habits. The online dashboard is neat too for checking stats. Totally helped me get a grip on how I spend my time on the PC.

Decent tracking, some glitches

I purchased a WhatPulse Premium subscription a few weeks ago. The ordering process was straightforward on their website. I got my account upgraded instantly after payment. The client software itself was easy to download and install. I really like the Application Usage Analytics and the Network Traffic Monitor features; they give me a good overview of my daily habits. Customer support was responsive when I had a question about resetting my stats. However, I noticed a couple of times the Uptime Tracker was a bit off, showing me online when my computer had been asleep. It's a minor thing, but still there. Overall, it's a useful tool.

Good value for Premium

I was looking for something to track my computer usage and found WhatPulse. I signed up for Premium during their renewal discount period and got a pretty good deal on the yearly subscription. It felt like a solid investment for the features I received, especially the detailed reports and historical data storage. Worth what I paid.

Useful but could improve

I opted for the Premium plan for the historical data and team statistics features. The setup was smooth, and the client started tracking right away. I appreciate the level of detail, especially the heatmaps, which are quite insightful. Delivery was immediate since it's software. Customer service was helpful when I asked about API access. My main gripe is that the interface, while functional, feels a little dated compared to some other apps I use. A refresh would make the experience even better. Still, for monitoring my work, it's effective and provides good value.

Anyone know if WhatPulse has a student discount? I'm a uni student and every bit helps.

G Greg K. 1 month ago
I'm pretty sure they do! I remember seeing something about it on their site a while back, worth checking the FAQ section.

G Greg Ito 1 month ago
Yeah, they usually have one. It's not always super obvious on the main page but it's there somewhere. I think you just need to verify your student email.

How long does it usually take for the premium features to activate after subscribing? I just paid but don't see anything yet.

A Amber 1 month ago
It should be pretty much instant once your payment goes through. Maybe try logging out and back into the client?

Yeah, mine was immediate. Sometimes it takes a refresh or restarting the client to show up though.

Can I use my premium subscription on both my desktop and my laptop at the same time?

L Laura Carter 1 month ago
Yup, you can install the client on multiple machines and link them to the same account. It'll just aggregate all your stats.

For sure, I have it on my work PC and my home gaming rig, works fine.

Thinking about getting WhatPulse Premium, but is it worth it over just the free client? What extra stuff do you actually get?

P Phil C. 4 weeks ago
Premium gives you way more historical data, like you can look back months instead of just a few weeks. Plus, the heatmaps are pretty cool for seeing your key usage patterns.

Yeah, and custom pulse intervals is nice if you want more granular tracking. Also, I think you can track more apps and get better reports.

I'm between WhatPulse and RescueTime. Anyone used both and have a preference for just tracking general computer usage?

I Ivy 3 weeks ago
WhatPulse is more about the raw input numbers (keystrokes, clicks) and network usage. RescueTime is more about categorizing your time into productive/unproductive. Depends what you want to focus on.

N Nina Q. 3 weeks ago
Yeah, WhatPulse is more for the 'gamification' of your usage stats, like seeing your total clicks. RescueTime is better if you want actual productivity insights and blocking features.

What payment options do they accept? Just PayPal or can I use a regular credit card?

K Kevin B. 1 month ago
Pretty sure they take major credit cards directly, not just PayPal. I paid with my Visa last time.

Yeah, I used my Mastercard. They have the usual options.

Is WhatPulse actually safe to install? Like, does it collect any super personal info or track passwords?

D Dana Beaumont 1 month ago
Nah, it just tracks generic keystrokes and clicks, not what you're actually typing in specific fields. It's not a keylogger in that sense.

They've been around forever, pretty reputable. It's more about volume and activity, not content.

Does WhatPulse have any Black Friday deals usually? Trying to time my purchase right.

B Brett 1 month ago
Oh yeah, they almost always have Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Usually a decent chunk off the yearly sub.

Definitely wait. I got like 30% off last year during their BF sale.
